Vietnam: Halong Bay Day 5

Halong Bay, one of the famous place that listed as World Heritage by UNESCO. The place that similar to Guilin, China. If you don't have enough budget to visit Guilin, may be you can consider Halong Bay as it is cheaper. Our tour to Halong Bay only cost 25USD (fees including: lunch, transport transfer, boat and cave entrance ticket)

From Little Hanoi to Halong Bay takes about 3 and a half hour.

Entrance fee 40000Dong or 2USD. But it is already included on the tour.

After the meal, the time is yours to enjoy the scenery on the front deck.













The boat will then stop at the harbor in front of the cave.


The cave won't be so wonderful without the fancy lighting.



Well, after touring inside the cave. Is time to bid good bye to Halong Bay. Transferring back to Hanoi and reach Little Hanoi around 8pm. Tonight will be the last night for our trip. So we decided to spend more for our dinner.

Vietnam: Hanoi Day 4

...........The title suppose to be Vietnam: Tam Coc Day 4. Why the hell it became Vietnam: Hanoi Day 4!!!
This is all because we had been trapped inside the train for 16 hours! Being told by the train staff that the train off track, hence everything delayed. OMG! Initially the train scheduled to reach Hanoi around 6am. However because of this incident, we reach Hanoi around 1pm! And reach Little Hanoi around 2pm! WTF. The tour to Tam Coc start about 9am :(

We have no choice but to accept the fact. Trapped inside the train for 16 hours without having any meal. Hence walked away a few street to locate for the best local beef noodle.

This beef noodle is damn damn OMFG nice! Yes, I know I might be too hungry to judge this. But come and taste to believe! 100% guarantee satisfaction.

After curing our stomach, next to Cho Dong Xuan for some bargaining. I hate to shopping in Vietnam. Why don't they just sell us the actual price instead of wanting us to bargain like hell for just a little bit item. Sigh...


Proceed to Hanoi Old Quarter Lake to visit Den Ngoc Son Temple.

Entrance fee 10000Dong or 0.50USD.

No we are not insane. Just feeling like eating ice cream. That's all. But these two plate of Ice cream is not an ordinary ice cream as it cost us around 170000Dong or 8.50USD if I'm not mistaken. Bloody expensive! Oh by the way, they're using Haagan Dazs :)

We get to know this restaurant through Lonely Planet recommendation. And of course from the result of Googling as well. But sad to said that the food so-so only.

Settle our dinner, walked back to Little Hanoi and have some rest. Tomorrow will have to prepare for Halong Bay tour. Good Night everyone.

Vietnam: Hanoi Day 1

Okok, I know my travel log for Taiwan yet to be complete and now I started to write about Hanoi. Sorry about that. I'm not the one who plan for Taiwan, hence a lot of details I'm not so sure about it. Please forgive me and let me write Hanoi ok? :P

Our flight depart on 6.30am and we are force to reach LCCT 2 hours earlier for the check in luggage. Well that's expected. Thanks to my housemate who willing to wake up early and fetch us to the Airport. The flight to Hanoi took nearly 3 hour and we successful landed at around 9.15am. After pickup our luggage, we will then meet the driver who will fetch us to our guest house. FOR FREE. Yeah this is the service that provided by the guest house if we stayed for at least two (2) night :D

The distance from Nobai Airport to our guest house took about 45 minutes, including the ridiculous traffic jam all along the way. As you might know, Vietnam time zone is 1 hour earlier than Malaysia. So, when we reach our guest house is just nearly 10.30am.

But as we are going to SAPA on the next day, tonight we'll be sleeping inside the train. The owner is so good that she immediately serve us with a warm breakfast to welcome our arrival at Hanoi. Again, the breakfast is free :)

After having our full meal, is time to move out and explore Hanoi. Wait! Let me take out my GPS first.

According to the itinerary planned. Our first stop is Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. However, along the way to the Mausoleum, there are few interesting place that might worth to visit as well. Let's enjoy the photo :)

A lot of people praying here. Only for those who wear long pant allowed to climb up to the stair.

Ok, the next attraction is damn far away. Just follow the directory on Google Maps will definitely bring you to the place. Moreover, the weather is cooling and is best to walk around like this without any sweat!

Temple of Literature, most of the visitor are student who wish to get a good result on their study.

The time is around 5.00pm after we finish our lunchner and we are urge to reach Little Hanoi at 6.00pm. Take a bath, tidy up and wait for the cab to bring us to Train Station.

The train ticket that Little Hanoi bought for us. This ticket included as part of the SAPA tour.


This is a night train which allow you to sleep inside the cabin as it will take 10 hours to Lao Cai which is our next destination.



Our room in Cabin No. 3. One room contain 4 bed. That's mean you need to share a room with another 2 unknown person. Luckily our roommate is an Australian Couple and they are very friendly too.

Finally we can sleep tight without any worry :)

Note: There are a lot of Hanoi kids that pretend to be good to you near the train station. They will help you to bring your luggage and take you to the train. After that, they will ask for tips from you! Please ignore them! Don't give them any penny! Remember ok!
