CFW 5.50 GEN-D3. I upgrade again

Yes, I upgrade my psp firmware again... for 2nd time. What is the reason? The reason is that my 5.50 GEN-B firmware is not able to open Kingdom Heart Sleep by Birth :(


This is the latest game from Square-Enix which required OFW 6.20. Since you unable to open the game, what will you do. I straightaway go find my friend named Google. After a few search, even with the latest CFW 5.50 GEN-D3 the game was unable to open due to the security block inside the ISO file :(

Well, for those who still want to upgrade to 5.50 GEN-D3. There's one big advantage using this CFW whereby you do not need to decrypt your ISO anymore in order to load the game which require OFW 5.50 - 6.00. Hooray!

Dragon Quest VI Is HERE!

After a long awaiting, finally Dragon Quest VI release sharp on 28.01.2010. At the same time, the rom file of DQ6 is scattering around internet. As for me, of course I'm also the one who waiting for the rom file to be downloaded.

As i'm playing with DQ9 now, DQ6 need to be start later on may be after a few completion of Tales of ... series. Thanks to all the guys who upload the files. YOU ARE THE BEST!

NDS Emulator

Yup, now I started to play Dragon Quest XI. Hehe. Coming next Thursday (2010.01.28), Dragon Quest VI Remake will release on NDS as well. Definately going to play it for sure! Shit I'm too happy with the release of Dragon Quest VI on NDS now. Hopefully the ROM can be download on the same date as well.

Upgraded from 3.80 M33-5 to 5.50 GEN-B + Decrypted ISO game

Its almost 2 years since I last bought my PSP. From that day started, it has been followed by CFW 3.80 M33-5 until today... finally I get myself to upgrade it to 5.50 GEN-B.

This is due to the fact that a lot of new ISO game are no more compatible with CFW 3.80 M33-5. What Sony did is to force you to install their official firmware 5.55 and play the game via UMD but not memory stick. This is to make sure no more piracy issue scattering around the whole world.

Yet, programming is a very scary subject. When you found a way to protect something, there might be a way to break that protection. This is what we so called Reserve Engineering. And so this happened now to Sony anti-piracy technology.

Given that a lot of people had posted up the tutorial on how to upgrade the CFW, I'm not going to waste my time guiding you instead provide you the link directly to that tutorial.

Important note:

• Make sure your CFW is 3.71 M33 and above
• Make sure your battery life is more than 78%
• The Decrypted ISO game only workable on CFW 5.50 GEN-B

YS Origin on Windows Seven

Important note: This post is about to review some outdated game.

As I just completed story of YS I The Vanished Omen and YS II Eternal The Vanished Omen Final Chapter on my PSP. Then only I get to know that there is another YS 0 or known as Origin exist in the market. Until then I only realize it release on PC platform which is totally out of my expectation!

Straightaway I dig out the download source from Megaupload and install to my Windows 7. It's a bit risky to install into Windows 7 as the game is only support until Windows Vista. But I believe the infrastructure between Windows 7 and Windows Vista is more or less the same. The installation is successful! But be aware, the english config patch and Vista patch need to install by sequence.

Short Tutorial:
1. Install YS Origin Full Version
2. Next install Vista Patches V1.1.0.3
3. Then only install English Config Patch

During my first attempt, I install step 1, 3 and 2 and it give me a damn error as shown below.


Furthermore, I tried to install AppLocale into Windows 7 too but it just didn't help at all. Anyway, it is relief to know that YS Origin is compatible on Windows 7.

For Vista Version of YS Origin, you can simply unlock Adol Christen and Bonus difficulty setting by create 2 files.

1. To unlock Adol (Only playable in Time Attack Mode): Create an empty file named "data.no" and place it into C:\Program Files\Falcom\Release folder
2. To unlock bonus difficulty setting (Very easy and nightmare added): Create an empty file named "data.ne" and place it into C:\Program Files\Falcom\Release folder

Bunch of Games and Anime Update

[PS3] Tales Of Vesperia:
Yeah! Good news to announce here. Tales of Vesperia will be ported to PS3!!! Official release will be on September 17th, 2009~ Hence, no more disappointed news as reported last year. But until now, I still haven't own my PS3 because of finance constraint. :(

In additional, they also added alot of new content into the game. One of the pre bonus is the Tales of Abyss custom for Yuri (Asch costume), Flynn (Luke costume), Estella (Tear costume) which is pretty cool.

[PSP] Tales of VS:
Here's another title of Tales of.. series which is non RPG category but it is under fighting genre.


Release date is on August 6th, 2009 which is 3 more weeks to go. As for Tales of.. die hard fans, this is a MUST PLAY game for me. Although it looks like Final Fantasy Dissidia, but I bet that Namco will produce something special for their fans. Tales of VS will feature a total of 35 Characters from 13 different series.

[PSP] Ys Seven:
Another MUST PLAY Action RPG! Ys Seven will be release PSP platform on September 17th, 2009. This is my most favourite ARPG indeed. I can't recall any ARPG I've played before that give me such a deep impression. Only Ys worth to be remembered.

[Anime] Tales of Vesperia: The First Strike:
This is the 5th Tales of.. anime which will going to release on October 3rd, 2009!

Currently I'm watching Tales of Abyss The Animation that ran for 26 episodes. Compare to other Tales of.. anime series, this is the most impressive for me. It is not only follow most of the storyline but the anime also show most of the characters hidden magic and hi-ougi as well. Really looking forward for the release of this anime. Hope they can do it better than Abyss. :)

[PSP] Final Fantasy Dissidia

Final Fantasy Dissidia - One of the coolest fighting game i ever amazed. The character including all the heroes and villains from Final Fantasy I - XI + 1 Cosmos and 1 Chaos which is specially created for Dissidia.



Each character will have their own skill. ability and Ex-Mode (an unavoidable special attack similar to the Limit Break mechanic seen in many games in the series). Players can also customize their characters with equipment. In the beginning of the games, you will only have heroes to select. While all the villains need to be unlock using the PP Point collected from each Quick Battle or Story Mode. As for me, so far I have unlocked Sephiroth and Ultimecia. :D

The Battle style is quite new for me. To be more accurate, this game was categories as "dramatic progressive action" instead of Fighting game like Street Fighter or King of Fighter. As I mentioned earlier, Players can have their own equipment and what fun is you have to gain the gil (money) from each victory battle to buy the equipment such as weapon, armor and accessories.

Right now I'm still trying out my best to get familiar with all the mode and function for this game. Luckily I know how to read Japanese Language but I'm bad with the Kanji as I poor in Chinese. Forget about this.

Another Big Disappointed News

Is a bit surprise that recently the new coming tales series non of them is release on PS2 platform.

As mentioned before, Tales of Vesperia is already release on XBox 360 last few week which is on 07th August 2008.

I watched the trailer and demo in YouTube. Oww man, the graphics are damn nice. Really wish it will be release on PS2 but that is impossible. Besides, there is a news I heard that it might release on PS3 in future but still not in confirmation yet.

Other than that, Tales of Symphonia - The Knight of Ratatosk also been release on Nintendo Wii since 26th June 2008.

In Malaysia, I still can't find any game shop that selling this RPG. All they have is just a crap piece of game.

Move to the next series, Tales of Hearts.

The official date is yet to confirm but will be around December 2008, on Nintendo DS. From what I saw, this tales is divided into 2 category which is CG and anime. As for me, the character in CG looks awful.. Totally out of mind. As I'm a fan of "Tales of..", I don't think this game is suitable for CG development.

From what I heard from my brother, there is another Tales series which is still in discussion, Tales of Phantasia - The Next Story which will be release on Nintendo Wii. I've tried to google about this tales series but zero results. So I can't really confirm about this. So, we just wait and see what Namco will bring to us in future.

Well.. Apart from tales series, let me talk about other RPG game which belongs to Square-Enix. Star Ocean 4 - The Last Hope which will be release on XBox 360.

Release date is yet to know. However demos and trailers is now available for preview. Especially in YouTube. I'm a fans on Star Ocean too and what I can say is this game is damn great! Despite of Story line, Magic, Skill or Battle option, they have their own unique of view. I have completed Star Ocean 2 and 3. Star Ocean 1 is still in deep sleep inside my Home PC. But I believe I will start the game very soon once I have my gaming mood back. :)

Great News!!! Today when I checked on Square-Enix Official Website, I found out a new tab that contains a familiar image to me. And that's Valkyrie Profile for Nintendo DS. I'm not sure wheather the story is still the same as in PS/PSP or is totally a new story. Zen Zen wakaranai! But from I see from the main logo, it change to red colour and when you notice again... the motto change too!

However, too bad it release in Nintendo DS. If the story same as PS/PSP, then is ok for me. Haha. Well, I also hope that they will release new story for this.

New RPG from Square-Enix - Coming Soon (For PSP only)

1. Star Ocean - Second Evaluation

This game is a remake version of PS platform which previously called Star Ocean "The Second Story". About the storyline, it somehow connected to Star Ocean "First Departure" which release on 27th December 2007. So, if you wish to completed the whole story, you are advisable to play with Star Ocean "First Departure" 1st. I should say that I have completed Star Ocean "The Second Story" in PS platform before and what I can say is this is a recommended game. Why? Because the battle system and the ability is impressive. The battle is not like classis RPG instead this game is using sphere (360 degree) battle system. You are free to control your own characters and kill the monsters like hell! Another system that I prefer in this game is the Customization tools. This is an incredible system! You are allow to create any custom equipment with an available materials dropped by monsters or treasures. You can even make your existing sword and armor become super strong and invinsible!

2. DISSIDIA Final Fantasy

Hmmm... For me, FF game is quite crap because of the storyline is unclear. We as a gamer always wonder what they are trying to express in the story. Even after we completed the whole game, we will still blurring don't know what we are playing and what are the story purpose all about. One word: Messy! Anyhow, I still hope this game will not disappoint me. We will know after the game release.

3. Kingdom Heart - Birth by Sleep

One of the game that cooperated with Walt Disney. Although the graphics for this game is nice, but I didn't play it for once is PS2 platform (Kingdom Heart I and II). Well, what I do is start the game and watch the opening (both opening game song sing by Utada Hikaru), finish then close. Haha. hmmm... I think I will consider to play this game when it release... Hopefully...

This is my 1st RPG game completed in PSP platform. Hmmm, the story is nice and simple, plus the battle system is easy to get used to it. The story mostly like a fairy tales legend, in order to save the love one, you need to surpass your brave and courage to enter into the new World named Vision to make your destiny and wish come true.

Let me describe how the story begin.

The hero for this game, Tatsuya a young 11-year-old human boy from the real world with an intense love of playing video games on his PSP, he embarks on a quest to save Miki's life by journeying to the world of Vision as a Traveler. He is given a powerful blade called the Traveler's Sword by a mysterious elderly man named Lau. Despite being so young, he wields the sword quite well in battle and the sword's own strength grows as he locates the mysterious five gemstones. He need to collect all gemstones in order to meet with the Goddess but other than Tatsuya, there're still other Travelers exist in Vision which playing an evil characters to stop Tatsuya from gathering all the gemstones. Along the journey, he make a true friends in Vision as he find himself blossoming into a successful Travelers. Demonkin which is a demonic monsters that are from another world called The Dark sealed by the goddess into the mirror for the sake to protect the Vision. In order to get the last gemstones, Tatsuya need to fight against the Demon which the seal is broken by Rei (an evil heart Traveler).

Once Tatsuya gather all the gemstones, it suppose to be the good news. But Goddess did not make any move to grant Tatsuya wish as Tatsuya is not a Traveler sent by the Goddess. That's mean Tatsuya is a fake Traveler transfer to Vision by the evil, Onba! which is the final boss of this game. but Tatsuya and companion do not know about this. Because of that, Tatsuya and friends rush to the Tower of Goddess in order to meet Goddess for the answer. And here, Onba appear in Miki form to persuade Tatsuya to give her the Traveler's sword "Demon Bane". Play yourself to know the truth and ending! Haha.

Apart from the story itself, after clear the game and save clear data. You also can play a secret dungeon. In this dungeon, the monster is totally strong. Within the dungeon, you will get the strongest weapon for all the characters and you can meet with the super strong final boss, Metatron inside this dungeon. Well, before you meet with the boss, you need to pass through the guardian, Sheng which is also a very strong enermy. I use 1 1/2hour to defeat Sheng. OMG, too strong!!! Please be aware. Once you defeat Sheng, prepare for the most craziest battle in the game. You need at least minimum lvl 70-75. God Bless You. Some tips to share here: Defense yourself when you see Metatron use "Load SpellCannon" move. Or else... hehe, you will know when you fight Metatron.

I personally rated this game for 10/10 and is really a recommended game. It available in americas version too. So no worry for those who cant read japanese.

Ar tonelico II Sekai ni Hibiku Shōjo-tachi no Metafalica

Maybe is a bit late and outdated to annouce this game here as this game release since 25th October 2007. However, I still feel that I need to share out this for all. For the title of this game, アルトネリコ２　世界に響く少女たちの創造詩（メタファリカ）literally "Ar tonelico 2: The Girls' Metafalica that Echoes to the World", with "Metafalica" meaning "song of creation".

Yesterday when I watch the opening of this game, suddenly I felt regreted not to play it during CNY. My brother brought this game long time ago and I saw this game too inside my room, maybe my laziness to try on the new game, so I ignored it.

This game is publish by Banpresto and develop by Gust. I'm not sure who's the characters designer here but according to his design, it looks alike Shining Tears (This game release in anime also: Shining Tears X Wind) which drawn by Toni Taka (if i'm not mistaken). The Character design is nice and cute. The Girl characters are are sexy too. Hehe. The game has really strong artwork, though the character design does fall into the stereotypical realm.

For the battle system, it still a 2D graphics which I like it so much. Based on the movie clip, the combo hits and magic damage can up to 100000++ after accumulate for earch turn. Sounds crazy but I love it, only this kind of damage will activate my blood heat rate!

Tales of Destiny Director's Cut Release!!!

Yes! Tales of Destiny Director's Cut finally release on 6th Februray 2008. But too bad my brother didn't go to game shop. Hence, ended up I can't start playing the game during CNY. Well, at least it release on PS2. For sure I will complete this whole story when I back to my hometown.

Alright, actually nothing much changes on the Director's Cut compare to the original game. This version of the game includes two new game modes called "Lion's Side", and "Lilith's Side" respectively. Lion's Side makes Lion Magnus the main character of the game instead of Tales of Destiny's normal main character, Stan Aileron. Likewise, Lilith's Side does the same for Stan's sister Lilith Aileron. The original game mode from Tales of Destiny (PS2) is still available to play, under the new name "Stan's Side". What surprise is the save files of the original game are still loadable in Tales of Destiny Director's Cut. hmmm, good job.

Just can't wait to use Lion as a main character. For me, I prefer Lion more than Stan. As the skill for Lion is too cool and great especially Lion Blast Calibur.

Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth JP Version

First of all, I would like to thanks to the person who develop BitComet and P2P technology. Secondly, I would like to Thanks to the person who upload torrent file.

Because of them, finally I able to download and play on the Valkyrie Profile Japanese version! I'm using almost 3 days 2 night to completely download the file without shutting down the Desktop. The file was approximately 750MB and I was downloading on my Grandma house during CNY since StreamyX are available there. Why we want to waste the oppurtunity right?

When the time I brought my PSP, the package are allow you to choose the games that you like, but unlucky, the shop owner said that he already deleted the Japanese version and only left English version. What a crap... Actually I completed Valkyrie Profile already on PSX platform. So I do not wish to have English version again in PSP. Fortunately with the power of Google, Japanese version still fall into my hand!

Project Zero 4 ~ Tsukihami no Kamen release on Nintendo Wii

零, Zero also known as Fatal Frame in Europe and Australia is one of the famous Survival Horror game in Japan which develop by Tecmo is now release on Nintendo Wii. I'm kinda of surprise on this news. If you look back to the previous series of Project Zero, it's only release on PS2.

Even though myself seldom play on Survival Horror game, but this game is really recommended compare to Bio Hazard a.k.a Resident Evil in Europe.

Tales of Vesperia on XBox 360

Unbelievable! This is the 1st "Tales of" series that release on XBox 360 Platform. Holy Crap! I can't able to play on this series again. Why this series don't want to release on PS2!!! As many of the previous "Tales of" series also release on Sony PlayStation. Jezz

Again, the characters is design by Kosuke Fujishima and the release date still unknown. When I first watch on the trailer, Wow... The graphics and animation completely amaze me. The battle mode is same as Tales of Abyss and Tales of Symphonia which is 360 motion battle.

I will miss out another nice game as you know this game will be release on Nintendo Wii. Tales of Symphonia: Knight of Ratatosk which is a series sub from the mail series of Tales of Symphonia. God! Why all the hits game now release on Nintendo Wii!!! Haiz, It cant be help now since the official release date will be announce soon somewhere on Spring of 2008.

The character design for this game is created by Kosuke Fujishima (my super idol) which draw mainly on Aa! Megami-sama. His drawing is very creative and beautiful and he has been create for many character for the previous tales series (Tales of Phantasia, Tales of Symphonia, Tales of Abyss, Tales of Vesperia (still in design stage)). I love his design so much!

Just hope that this series will be convert to PS2 as like the previous series do (Tales of Symphonia convert from Nintendo 64 t0 PS2). Then I will be able to complete all the tales series...

Dragon Quest IX release on Nintendo DS

Dragon Quest... for those who love to play RPG (Role Playing Game) should know the existing and history of this game. Dragon Quest, is a well known and super famous RPG in Japan. It also a first RPG in the world that role out before Final Fantasy. I always crazed to play on this game and always wanted to complete it as much as I can. So far, I only manage to complete series I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII and VIII.

But sadly, recently Square Enix held a press conference in Tokyo to announce the next entry in the main Dragon Quest series. In a surprise move, Japan's most popular series will continue not on the PS3 or the Wii, as many had expected. Instead, Square Enix will be bringing the game to the DS. Haiz...

Because of this, there's no way for me to play on this Dragon Quest IX unless I brought Nintendo DS platform myself. Well, this is something we can't avoid now. Just hope that in future, Square Enix will consider to remake a better version in PS2 or PS3.
