Starting my day 2 with an extremely sleepy mode. Force to wake up around 5.ooam as the train reach Lao Cai Station. Landing without a clue until we saw some local holding a board with "Sapa Summit Hotel". Yeah, that's our booking hotel. Gather there and start head count. When everyone checked, here come another 1 hour ride to Sapa Town.
Reach Sapa Summit Hotel around 6.00am.
Proceed to their cafe and have our breakfast. The weather is extremely cold! According to them, the temperature is around 7-9 celsius. Trembling~
Even the warm food just managed to hold you warm awhile. After finished my breakfast, take a walk on the garden to see is there anything I can snap. As a result, this is what I get :)
It is an Apricot Flower! The beautiful blooming really made my day cheerful :D
Back to lobby and wait for 9.00am. A local tour guide will bring us to visit Cat Cat Village which required 8km or 3 hour of trekking.
What awaiting you at the exit really make you scare.
A bunch of Black H'mong minority waiting for the kill.
I was told to ignore them if they talk to you. This is to avoid them from selling things to you. But don't be surprise, most of them are good in english!
Thanks to the cold weather, this is the first time I ever walked without a single drop of sweat! Along the way to Cat Cat Village is pretty easy too as we are going down hill. Hence, there's no difficulty for this first half.
Here we are the entrance to the Cat Cat Village.
Cheerful lady :)
According to the tour guide, Cat Cat Village is named long long time ago based on their appearance are as dirty as a cat. Well, that's a history.
Life is good :)
After passing the bridge, there are few stall that selling local food and we decide to have a try.
Raw Pork.
BBQ-ing...
And here the bamboo sticky rice after BBQ-ed. Serve with grounded peanut. Tasteless...
But this stuff is different! This pork is so delicious and juicy! Each for 10000dong or 0.50USD.
After the meal, is time to move back to our hotel.
Now is payback time, moving up hill is really killing me. Yet, still no sweat from my body.
Run for life! Cat Cat Village gone from sight after attacked by thick fog.
Muddy road.
Finally back to Sapa Town at 1.oopm. Time is right and we checked in our room for a rest before proceed with lunch.
The room and toilet is clean and everything functional. This hotel is recommended.
Curry Chicken
Fresh Spring Roll
Yogurt Ice
Daily Soup
Lipton Tea with milk
Sweet and Sour Fillet
Fried Spring Roll
And last, pear :)
Next hour will be free and easy for us. So, we just take our time to visit Sapa Town.
The fog is so thick until you can't see what's coming.
Sapa Church
Sapa Market.
Saw this while walking inside the market.
Ops, full body view. This make me hungrier~
Hence, we ordered two stick for a try.
Both are just damn good~ Even if the food just BBQ-ed, the heat won't hurt you and you can just straightaway bite on it.
Sky turn dark and fog become thicker. So we walked back to the hotel and have our dinner. May be because of the cold weather, you will get hungry easier than usual. We need a lot of energy to keep warm!
Green Tea
Fried Vegetable
Daily Soup again
Black Pepper Fillet
French Fried
Fried Mushroom and Chicken
Is just around 8.00pm after the dinner. Back to the room, clean up, watch TV and take a good rest. We need to prepare for the 12km trekking on the next day :)
