Taiwan: Sun Moon Lake Day 2

Crawl out from bed around 7am. Tidy up the stuff and ready to Sun Moon Lake. Forget to mention that the Tomato Room will provide a free breakfast to those who overnight in their B&B. So we stop by the small cafe and had our breakfast. Although is just a toast and coffee tea, but I do enjoy every bite from the toast.

The owner of Tomato Room will show you the direction to this cafe. Hence not worry and it's quite near only.

Once we done with our breakfast. Is time to visit Sun Moon Lake (
日月潭).

Getting There: You need to ride TCBus 35 to TaiChung Train Station and look for Nantou Bus Station. This is the only bus that will straight to Sun Moon Lake.

This is how the bus looks like.

Remember to give a call to your appointment B&B. The one we stay is located at Ita Thao and it's quite far away from Sun Moon Lake Bus Station. So we requested them to fetch us to the B&B for free :D

As the Wenwu Temple (文武廟) is far from Ita Thao as well. The owner of our B&B drop us here to have a visit before we reach Ita Thao.

The day we reach Sun Moon Lake not so blessed with great weather. The scenery completely covered by fog and mist.

Once done, we continue our ride to B&B and this is where we overnight at Sun Moon Lake, Jinguan B&B.

The room quite big and clean. All the daily thing that you needed has been prepared as well.

The advantage of this B&B is near to the harbor and also cable car to Formosan Park. Jinguan do have a package for the boat service as well. It's cheaper to buy from them rather to get from the counter.

Check in and settle our payment. Proceed to walk around Ita Thao to capture a nice photo. Although is sad to see that the whole area are covered by mist.

After that of course is Yummy Yummy time!

Fried Mushroom. Nice while it still hot.

Super delicious ais cream. Full of mango flavor.

Ooo Wild Boar Sausage. Nice and juicy!!!

Nearby, you can pay a visit to Sun Moon Lake aboriginal singing and dancing performance for free too.

After the show, don't forget about your boat ride at 4pm.

I'm not sure the price at counter but from Jinguan is NT80.

When the boat start, the captain will first explain the historical place of this Sun Moon Lake. Then it will have a first stop at Syuanguang Temple (玄光寺).

This place damn crowded. Everyone is busying praying for wealth and health.

You can only spend half hour here or else the boat will leave you behind. Well then, continue the boat ride to view Lalu island. Yes is view only. You can only sit inside the boat and view the island from windows. The reason is the island is only open to visit on weekday. Damn!

Basically from my point of view, the boat ride is just a waste of money and time. I rather spend more time taking a bus NT80 for unlimited ride around Sun Moon Lake. At least you got chance to visit all the place surrounding Sun Moon Lake. I feel so regret by not doing this.

From Ita Thao to the cable car station is within walking distance. For those who wish to take cable to Formosan Park. The last cable car is 4.30pm.

Is true that Taiwan days shorter than night. Around 5.30pm, the sky turn dark just like Malaysia 8pm.

Is dinner time now, is better not to take snack anymore. So decide to try on Taiwan main dish specialty.

Minced Pork Rice.

Tasteless Pork Chop Noodle.

Well, if you stay at Jinguan B&B, around 8pm they will have so called Firefly Program. The owner of the B&B will actually bring you up hill and explore firefly. The place is completely dark. Only by this the firefly light will be easily seen by eye. Yeah, this is very romantic scene where normally you can only watch in drama. No worry, just stay at Jinguan B&B and you will have chance.
