Taiwan: TaoYuan and TaiChung Day 1

Here I back again after stop blogging for more than 1 month. Been so lazy to blog these day. But for the sake of people who love travel to Taiwan, I'm here to help as I'm just return backpack traveling from Taiwan.

Before we getting started, there's a few important points I would like to note down especially for those who travel backpack.

• Taiwan Power Adapter/socket is different from Malaysia. They using Type A (NEMA 1-15 USA Pin 2) and Type B (NEMA 5-15 USA Pin 3). Check here.

• Their traffic is opposite compare to Malaysia.

• Do apply for digital tour buddy here. It's a hand phone equipped with sim card and charger that will ease you when traveling in Taiwan.

• Plan your trip properly before depart. Please ensure you managed your hotel reservation one or two month in advance before departure date.

• Same goes for cab booking. Please confirm your date of arrival and pickup place.

• Remember to contact your hotel/B&B once you reach Taiwan, else they will treat your booking as invalid.

• Lastly, make sure your itinerary 100% clear and complete (e.g. necessary maps, address, contact number, etc)

Once you have all this information. Yeap! Is time to rocks Taiwan~

From Malaysia to Taiwan is about 4-5 hours flight. There are two terminal in Taoyuan Airport. So please check which terminal you are on your flight itinerary (For my case I reach at Terminal 2). Once you reach, there are 3 things need to be done.

• Collect your digital tour buddy handphone from the service counter. (if you applied from the website and approved)

• Register for Youth Travel Badge on the same counter. With this badge, you can enjoy a discount for various of things. (e.g. MRT fare, Bus fare, foods, etc)

• Check your handphone credit and reload. NTD100-150 should be sufficient enough.

Once done, is time to move to TaiChung (台中).

Getting There: From TaoYuan Airport Terminal 2, hop up to Airport Shuttle Bus UBus #705 (NTD30) and take a ride to TaoYuan HSR Station. From here, get HSR ticket from TaoYuan (桃園) to TaiChung (NTD540).


Our First night is at Tomato Rooms.
Getting There: From TaiChung HSR Station, go to the bus terminal and ride the shuttle bus to FengJia University (逢甲大學). You need to alight at 麥當勞&屈臣氏. Tomato Room will send you a map once you confirmed the reservation. Just follow the direction. Is quite near from where you alight.


My Review for this B&B is 8/10. The room is clean and tidy. They accept email reservation but deposit is a MUST for them.


Toilet is clean as well.


Everything that you need is already well prepared (e.g. Body and Hair Shampoo, Tooth Brush and Paste, Comb, face and body towel and coffee and tea bag as well). Hence you do not need to bring your own stuff.


From Tomato Room to FengJia Night Market is around 10minutes walking distance. Since is our first night at taiwan. Of course we took a lot of snack ^^. Scroll down for food photos.

Not bad but damn oily and full of bones. Not so convenience to eat and walk.

After fill up our stomach and finish shopping. Is time to walk back to the B&B and prepare for tomorrow journey.


Taiwan citizen love dogs very much. This is one of the dog I captured during my visit at TaiChung. Very cute and adorable~ Love it so much!
